After many hours diagnosing intermittent printer operation on a new machine it turned out to be a faulty LPT port. Although it detected during post and by the O/S it failed to allow any recognition of printers. Cables were swapped, printer too, bios upgraded, format and re-install to no avail. Had the same result using DOS drivers.
I returned it to the retailer for replacement only to be told that it has to be sent to MSI Aust for checking prior to replacement, average turn around time of 2 weeks...!!!!!
Anyone else experienced such a long turn around on a RMA??
Previously any that I have had have been a couple of days.

Really, it goes to the wholesaler who tests it and replaces it. The retailer should be happy to test and replace it themselves. And sort out the RMA for you. If they're not...

2 Weeks isn't particularily bad, but I bet 2 weeks turns into 4, turns into 6...

Thanks for the positive forcast Q9...!!! :D

Iv'e had a few dud items pass my way over the years and an immediate exchange was the remedy .. .. and occasionally even an apology was given!!!

I am aware that supplers do use different methods for return of faulty items but this is the first (and last) time I (and my customer) ever get caught in this MSI fiasco. To receive a faulty product then forced to wait 2 weeks for replacement is just plain rude.

Once I bought 6 CDR's only to find that 5 were faulty... on return they were immediately replaced with more expensive ones at no extra cost. He still gets my business.
