Best result for years, even if it looks *again* like there'll be no
Aussie winner. (Although you never know.)

10 Nick O'Hern -1
23 Geoff Ogilvy +1
23 Rod Pampling +1
30 Stuart Appleby +2
30 Adam Scott +2
30 Robert Allenby +2
39 Mark Hensby +3
-----------------
52 Peter Lonard +6

Hensby's score was amazing, given that he shot 80 in the first round.

That would be what, about 17 million people? I find that very
difficult to believe.

When an Aussie male golfer actually wins a Major then come back to us,
okay? Most of these golfers get the HUGE advantage of growing up playing
golf only (no job) with the help of the Australian Sports Institute (or
whatever it is called). In spite of that, they can not even produce one
single Major win in almost ELEVEN YEARS!!!! The small population size of
the country means nothing considering the HUGE advantage I mentioned
above. I know of no other country whre golfers get that kind of an
advantage!!!! The college system in the US is not restricted to US
citizens. Does the ASI allow non-Australians?

Colin, I'm glad that your fellow Aussies are doing well.
Best of luck to them.

Hensby's "bounce back" was quite amazing.

Having three quarters of the majors in Australia would be a huge advantage.

No...only for pending or current Australian citizens..and 'AIS' is not
part of the college or university

'AIS' Scholarships are only for a limited duration (for golfers,
typically 12 months), and are only available to applicants or appointees
who are already part of the national elite in whatever sport they
represent. An 'AIS' Scholarship is not a tertiary academic course.

See:-

Should give you all the *real* information you need to know.

87.5% of Aussies males are chauvinists, sexists, racists, alcoholics and
wankers.

One third of the multiple PGA Tour winners for this year so far is
significant.

Aussie winners recently:

Karrie Webb, first women's major
Aaron Baddeley, Verizon
Stuart Appleby, Mercedes and Houston
Geoff Ogilvy, WGC Matchplay
Rod Pampling, Bay Hill
Brendan Jones, Japanese Tour this week
Paul Sheehan, Japanese Tour last week
Paul Gow, Nationwide

Not a bad result. A few more and we might usurp those pesky South Africans!
