Ive only got a 86cm HD CRT TV. Now this has only got component
conections. But from what i read you wont be able to get full HD from
a Blueray disc unless you have HDMI connections.

Not that it bothers me. I wont be buying it untillt hey coem down in
price and they are releasign the ripped HD movies on P2P. Then i wont
even need a Hardware player ill just use my HTPC to play them like i
do now.

But if i ever do by one wil i need HDMI to even view HD ?

Thanks.

By what I've read on blue ray it's dead in the water! This could of course
be exaggerated but the reason so it said was the over zealous copy
protection of disks & the crazy decision by one maker to use proprietary
software. Nothing kills technology quicker than the knowledge that it is
going to suffer from major restrictions!

Tell that to the people selling the players and the movies now. I
think they never got your email :)

All depends on the flags implemented y the movie stuidos. The option to
implement copy protection over analogue sources is up the individual stuido
from what i have read. You'd need at least DVI with HDCP or above if copy
protection was implemented on the disc.
