Digicrystal dual tuner SDT-9060PVR, Anyone have one of these?
On Ebay they go for $230 odd, bit of a bargain.
I heard they had problems initially, there is new firmware out now
though

HD? I think it's SD, isn't it?

Yes he meant HD = hard drive

Ah. OK.
Maybe HDD for hard drive and HD for high definition would make it easier?
After all, in aus.tv.digital, I automatically assume HD = high definition.

Not many STBs can receive analogue to my knowledge! I saw a DGTEC SD (twin
SD tuner PVR) that did both digital & analogue but I was under the
impression most STBs only do digital? I don't understand your reference to
SBS, they have digital & analogue! The only channel that is analogue & not
digital (in Sydney) is 31.

I'm not sure why you're bringing analog into it. I thought Cosmo simply
wanted confirmation that the digital tuner covers UHF as he'd heard in
forums that it did not (and therefore couldn't pick up the UHF digital SBS).

Correct! All I want to know before I empty my wallet is if the
Digicrystal tuner(s) can detect SBS digital. That's all, folks.

SBS digital is on UHF too (in capital cities).

I must be missing something here? UHF (&VHF) are analogue unless I'm
mistaken & most "Digital" STBs don't handle analogue?
There again depending on the specific individuals interpretation of the
terminology I may well be wrong?

UHF describes the range of radio frequencies over which the digital or
analog signals are transmitted or received. It implies neither method.

You are mistaken. Digital is broadcast in the same frequency ranges as
analogue. www.dba.org.au can help you find the frequencies if you want
to look them up.

Some regional areas (e.g. the Hervey Bay translator, Rockhampton, Gold Coast
etc. etc.) use UHF only or a mix of VHF and UHF channels for both analogue
and digital transmissions.

yes great box at a very good price, excellent tuner for the money, and easy
to use,
select the State you are in, ( not the State of Confusion) QLD, NSW eg; and
the preselect channels are there or do a Manual or AUTO scan
not bad gadget approx half the price of competitors, would be interested to
hear if anyone has fitted a 200gb HDD,?? it's easy done, but paperwork
says up to 120gb HDD only supported
