Excellent suggestion! Although it could probably do without quite so
much fish...

This is Channel 10 we are talking about ... so it's either fish, Big
Brother, or an Adam Sandler movie.

I vote fish.

I want ***NO*** "guide" channels.

I want Australian FTA networks to stop sucking Foxtel's cock and implement
the kind of EPG the rest of the world takes for granted.

I don't mean offence when I say... "Tell us how you really feel!"

AU FTA FUCKERS obviously think most of us are unaware of what the rest
of the world gets for nix - I certainly am - what are we missing out
on?

Regards,

Tim

We are missing out on:

* Full 7-day EIT program guides

* A vast range of channels to draw people to move to digital (see the UK's
Freeview for details)

* Full resolution and bandwidth High Definition (see the US)

* Dolby Digital 5.1 audio on shows that are made using it (once again, the
US)

* Watermarks that sit in the corner of the screen rather than two thirds of
the way across it to make sure idiots who zoom in to 4:3 get to see it
(see... er,, every other digital TV market in the world aside from here)

And I could probably go on.

i'd like a EPG for all the free-to-air channels (including ABC2 and Channel
31) in the one spot. I know there is one of these on-air in Sydney but 80%
of Australians don't live in Sydney.

There's no need for guide channels at all. The same system that displays
Now-and-Next info is perfectly capable of delivering a week's worth of
programme details (maybe more) if only the networks would send the data.
Almost all existing STBs support this. It uses a fraction of the bandwidth
used by the guide channels we have. That bandwidth could be used to improve
pic quality on the SD or HD channels, rather than being squandered as it
currently is.

The all-channel guide in Sydney you speak of only provides a list of shows,
but doesn't provide any episode details. An EIT based guide is much, much
better.

Why tell us - we agree already.
Tell Channel 10 (and 9, 7, 2, SBS)
