There are two twin tuner HD STBs being LG & Toshiba, a third (Topfield) is
supposed to be on the market in two to three months. You really need twin
tuners otherwise when you record you can't watch your television in digital,
only analogue (if it actually has a tuner).
Last time I checked there wasn't a DVD recorder than had a digital tuner,
they were all analogue. This may have changed recently though!

Still none available although this might suit your needs if you can afford it: http://www.optima.com.au/product_detail.asp?Reference=media

Your only genuine option at the moment is a PC based PVR.

Just saw the new all-in-one DGTEC at JB Hi-fi in Warringah Mall (Sydney).
$799 I think it was.
The storeperson I spoke to first had explained to me that it was just a dvd
recorder with the hard drive, and that "+ DVB-T" was its model name. I
argued, and the other storeperson had confirmed that indeed it was the very
first all-in-one unit : DVD recorder + Hard Drive + digital tuner (SD).

The text on the box clearly states:
DVD recorder + HDD + DVB-T
The text on the unit confirms that.
What else could it be for $799 from DGTec ?

I have a DGTEC HD STB and it is a complete piece of crap. Do yourself a
favour and don't touch anything with the DGTEC brand on it - no matter what
it is. A look at the respective forums will turn up very many unhappy
DGTEC buyers.

So are you saying that nothing has changed from the days when they
brought out the first HD STB then?
I thought they would've finally got their act together and made some
drastic improvements since then.
