Yeah I noticed I had a message around 2pm and updated then. I love how you can just spin the globe around. Hopefully the News Channel is soon to follow, and also the internet browser, though I'll need some more points for that.

Beta version of the internet browser is available for free download this Friday!

Matt, I'm not sure about the official Nintendo one, but my 3rd party one covers about 20-60m.

No you wont. The controller thing is just there to look good.

It looks cheapo looking, anyone know if its comfortable?

Woohoo for weather :D And woohoo for Toys R Us finally giving me Need for Speed! About time lol

I'm pretty impressed by the weather channel, it's very well put together. Now I can choose the best time to visit the south pole :dD

Muffin, the steering wheel addon isn't needed, but I've heard that it is pretty good.

Hey guys,

This is my first post to the thread - I just learned I'm moving to Oz in February, from the US. My wife got accepted to school in Adelaide and we'll be moving there in just over a month.

I was wondering if I could get some help from the forum.

I bought my NTSC Wii here in US, but since I'm moving to Oz, I imagine I'll be purchasing a PAL Television when we arrive. Earlier on this thread there was talk on whether or not to get a NTSC system.

- What do I need to purchase/do to be able to play my NTSC wii when I arrive in Oz?
- What games will I be able to play? Only NTSC games?
- Is it hard to come across NTSC games?

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

you'll find TV's here are all PAL/NTSC (all 3 standards) so the console will be fine.

The power adapter will require a step down to convert the 240V we use here to the 110V for the console.

The internet is a wide and wonderful place, you can order games from th U.S (and most of the time it will work out cheaper to do so anyway :p).

1. Like Linton said, you need an isolation step-down transformer, they usually cost $50-60. You may be able to instead just buy a PAL power cord for cheaper, but I am not certain.

2. You will only be able to play US/JAP games

3. In Australian retail stores, yes. But you can get them off the internet in a couple of days pretty easily.

Downloaded the free trial internet browser today, it's great!
Just wondering, are they going to stop access of this one when they release the full version? If they don't, I don't see why anyone would pay for the full one when this free one works fine.

Basically I believe this is how it works:

- Trial version is available now for free download until March
- In March the full version becomes available for free download until June
- In June the full version is released at a price of 500p ($7.50) and the first two become obsolete

- I've had mixed emotions over the internet channel, it is pretty good for showing people videos off youtube etc. A good site is www.peekvid.com

I like the internet channel, it works pretty well, probably better than I thought. Oh, and it's free :dD

Has anyone else played Gamecube games on their Wii yet? Is there any way to get back to the Wii Menu after playing a Gamecube game without resetting the Wii? When the game is open the Wii Remote can't be used at all so the home button can't be pressed.

No, you have to reset it, doesn't really bother me though. Btw, I've been having a great time playing Donkey Konga via the GC backwards compatibility.

I've gotten a bit bored with the Wii. Didn't enjoy Zelda as much as i thought i would (been a OOT fanboy) and Red Steel is crap. In Wii Sports ive gotten PRO on every sport and cant get beyond that!

I'm still lovin' it, though I have tons to play:

Wii Sports
Zelda
Wii Play
Monkey Ball
Rayman

and Donkey Konga on the GC.

I also have 2000 wii points, but nothing on there I want to buy!

I can't get enough of Zelda, it's an amazing game and Wii Sports is a real time waster :dD

I'm pretty impressed with NFS too, it's better than I thought! :boonie:

Still haven't got one :(

BUT i have played it ALOT as my cousin has one...

Zelda is fantastic, Wii Sports is better than i expected...

BUT

Under the radar slipped Rayman... OMFG! That is one of the funniest games i have ever played.

Not better than Zelda, but DEFINEATELY needs to be played.

Yer I have played rayman, it's so silly.

I just downloaded Sonic on the VC, because I wanted to download something with the 2000 wii points I got for Christmas.
