900 MHz is the normal GSM band, but there are also 1800 MHz 'micro-cells'
all over the place in cities now. I have never come across any 1900 Mhz GSM
gear here - anyone know if there's any in Australia?
The USA's got a system which I think is called PCS which uses the 900 MHz
band so their base GSM band is 850 Mhz instead. Typical idiot americans
picking something different to just about everywhere else in the world.
