Who pay a stupid price to aussie importers for a car that isn't really THAT
expensive in Europe.

Not to put too finer point on and in the fullness of time, I think what
is needed is for you to apply for a government grant to create a QANGO
to set up a steering committee to look at the feasibility of setting up
a committee to commission and oversee a survey to see whether 'bmw
owners think their shit dont stink' and make appropriate recommendations
back to the QANGO so that it can lobby politicians to enact legislation
making it compulsory for BMW owners to make the necessary adjustments
to their diet/s so that their shit *will* indeed stink.
Myself - my shit doesn't stink - It is my farts that give me away! :(

Who cares what other drivers look at you like,..life's too short to worry.
A BMW is a car I'd like to own as they so look, perform and resell
well,..except for automatic 4 cylinder models.
One of the defining styling features of Beemers has been the bonnet lid
covering the top of the headlights slightly, giving it a big cat
look,..notice now most other makes with round lights are copying this.

But I bet they don't buy our Falcons or Commodores as luxury vehicles.

BMW's don't really interest me. Others probably like them. That's ok.

Yeah...I dont see why anyone can be criticised for wanting one,..I've only
driven a 2002 'round 1983 and it was one of the most stable solid feeling
handling cars I had driven, period. Compared to say a last model Cortina
2Litre of the same era, there was no contest.

I drove a 323i about 20 years ago and it was a revelation after growing up
with Jap, English and Australian cars!
From that day on I understood what "quality" meant.

20 years ago they had performance that surpassed most stuff around of the
same ilk. However they've slacked off considerably in recent times.
I'd agree though that they make a very good quality car.

Well it really the performance that impressed me (although the performance
WAS impressive!)
It was more the fit, finish and feel that was unlike anything I'd
experienced in a car before.
