Vodafone Mobile Connect Query

I am thinking of buying a notebook and getting the Vodafone mobile connect
card for $99 a month.
I noticed that I can send SMS and MMS messages with it and it also says I
can receive them. How can that be? Do I get a mobile phone number allocated
to it or something? Does that mean I can do voice calls as well?

Yes, you get a phone number that you can send and receive SMS, MMS and
voice calls with. You even get voicemail. They're not included in the
Data Caps, so you'll have to pay extra.
