Whats funny is that the pre Eurovision, her video clips of this song did not
involve her shrieking like some Betty Blue New Yorker. Interesting. Me
thinks she wanted to lose.

About half way through - was she goose stepping like a Nazi, arm and all?

Probably. She (the fictional character Silvia Night) goes out of her way to
cause offense. I love it.

Not to mention giving the Greeks a bagging earlier in the week. When I first saw her
(?) I thought she was trying to do a Kylie Minogue style performance.

You don't have to be mad to post on Usenet,
but it certainly helps.

My goodness. That was truely awful.
BTW, when did the rule requiring songs to be in the country's language
get scrapped?

Can't remember that far back. Seems to me there was a time when songs
were increasingly being sung in English, so a rule was introduced to
prevent it. So for a while, at least, songs were in native languages. I
rember "Ein Bissien Frieden" which was the winning West German entry one
year, sung in German.
Sylvia.
