And even someone as stupid as Rod 'Chemical Man' Speed should know that
Telco's are laughing all the way to the Banque (tm) by forcing consumers
over the mobile comms services because the cost to provide those services is
less than for fixed-line services.
Telstra's marketting people would deny they're forcing people to move away
from fixed-line services and simply say that they're 'encouraging' consumers
to 'adopt the new technologies'. That's fine, but they should not jack up
the cost of the fixed services just because of a flawed argument put to the
ACCC saying they can't offered fixed lines for anything less than about $30
a month, then steadily put up the costs to justify the basis of their flawed
argument.
It's predatory but clearly in Australia it's ok for Telco's to behave in
that way when we should have comms services that are much cheaper, provide
better quality (not necessarily more features), and give better choice and
availability to customers. The middle one of those three is about the only
one we're seeing in the Australia telco market at present.
Regards,
Craig.

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof that you

you have ever been able to manage is train driver.

And that is just your pig ignorant lie.
In spades with those who want a decent internet service.

And they do that by charging less for adsl than for dialup
if you use the net much, USING THAT FIXED LINE, fuckwit.

How odd that they managed to fool the ACCC on that.
And even someone as stupid as you should have noticed that
you dont even have to pay telstra more than $18.50 line rent.

Anyone with a clue has all that.
