Found that one on a mates computer today.
It installs itself in C: program files/spyware strike
also a registry entry.
boot in safe mode and do a search and delete all
of it's folders and files ( remove read only atrib )
regedit to remove the reg entry.
Spybot or similar may remove it I don't know.

He got it surfing for porn, A lesson in that.

In fact I noticed the pop-up only on return from a holiday in NZ,
during which we left our student-son, visiting from Melbourne, in
charge of our home....
Funny, that .....

try here

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index.cfm?action=showthread&threadid=225317&forumid=1

http://tinyurl.com/cvwdr

from the sound of it a very nasty piece of gear, in some
cases infecting your computer when you click on the link,
then asking you to pay for removal.

read the forum links and you may be able to get out of it. I
have been trying to get rid of a similar and found these
links

they might help

Geoff

Thanks all for the great suggestions.
My son has followed your leads and has succeeded in eradicating the
intruder.
A hard task, as this interloper apparently spreads itself through the
system in bits of html which can regenerate itself when you reconnect
to the internet.
And, as a cautionary warning to everyone out there, this nasty bit of
work was not picked up while surfing for porn. My son says he got it
while downloading accessories from Flash development sites which he
wanted to use to augment web-page construction programs. So Flash
devotees out there... be careful!
