Hi
When my xp pc boots up and the desktop screen opens I get a box that says:
WINDOWS NO DISC
There is no disk in the drive.
Please insert a disk into drive.
I usually click cancel or continue and everything performs fine, does anyone
know what it is?

Also it may have a connection, but sometimes when I am browsing I get the
box saying XP has blocked a pop up, followed by another box with mircosoft
excel trying to load something , this box is replaced by the fnal box that
says : MICROSOFT EXCEL 2000 SR-1
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable disc that is not available. Insert the microsoft excel 2000 sr-1
disc and click ok.
My AVG anti virus is up to date as are my updates.

Few things u can do rectify the problem.
1)Download and install adware or spybot and scan the HD for any unwanted
stuff
2)Go to 'add/remove programs' in control panel and remove any applications
or utes that u dont need
and the stuff u dont know whether u need or not, just do a google search
to find out what it is.
3)Go to 'run' menu and type 'msconfig'. Remove any unwanted startup
things u dont need or causin problems in 'startup' tab.

did you shut down windows with explorer open to a Cd ?
windows remember last settings for explorer is it's left open when you
shut down so it might just be trying to read the CD, open explorer to
your C drive then shut down and see if you still get the msg
