Advanced Simulated Radar Client (ASRC)
Anyone here use it? It's for ATC on VATSIM. (VATPAC actually). (virtual Air
Traffic Control)
I'm having a problem with it.
The monitor itself remains stable.
The entire ASRC screen flashes, with the exception of the single line of
text right down the bottom where you actually type in the commands. The
screen flashes off every time I press a key.
No other programs are effected. The second monitor doesn't flash when ASRC
is flashing.
I tried several system restores last night to try and fix it but to no
avail. The last time I used the program was last November, which was before
I added a second monitor to my setup. With this in mind, I disabled the
second monitor but it had no effect.
The only thing I did notice is that if I reboot the system, and start ASRC
BEFORE all the normal system files and stuff have finished loading, it
doesn't flash! If I then close ASRC and start it up again without rebooting,
it starts flashing again. I'm starting to think that it may be one of the
programs that load up on start up.
Reading the ASRC manual again, I see it mentions firewalls and some programs
like ICS which I think is Internet Connection Sharing. I'm thinking that as
it doesn't flash if I start it before all the background stuff is loaded,
then maybe it's the ICS stuff causing the problem. IE: If I get ASRC started
before the system has loaded the software to check for automatic updates for
antivirus or windows updates and stuff. Does this make sense?
Not knowing what it might be, would you suggest that using FSAutostart might
be helpful to use when I run ASRC? That way I can set it to shutdown all the
unnecessary programs before running it. I use FSAutostart when I play FS9.
Thanks for any advice.
