I recently ran defrag on my dell desktop running windows xp SP2 and i am not
happy with the results. My question is is there a way to reverse the
process, is there any way you can do a refrag?

thanks in advance

What results?

There is nothing a defrag does that should make things worse, unless you
have had some filesystem error, and in that case it's likely you are
stuffed anyway...

No, you will have to buy a new computer.

Er... no, a refrag isn't an option. A defrag of the drive is meant to
speed up your system so a refrag is a backwards step. As has been said
before sounds like a file system error so run the disc Error-checking
tool on the drive and the select option of "Scan for and attempt
recovery of bad sectors". Hopefully that'll help fix what-ever problem
you have before things get really interesting. Also, the inbuilt defrag
tool isn't that intelligent and usually it's recommended to run it about
three or four times in succession to get a reasonably decent defrag out
of it.
