Mythbusters: pickup truck tailgates, more economical
to drive with tailgate up. Knew that from both riding
in the back of me own, and the bit of carpet I place
on the tailgate for loading unloading - U move it
to front and stays in place

My old 1970 bit-a-missin' panter truck has a tailgate loader and driving
with it down and a long stick so it looks like I really need it down is good
for an extra 5 kmh.
Mind you, it sticks up 4 feet and is 7 feet wide, so it acts like a pretty
good sail, and the poor old na diesel is hard up to get it up to 100 kmh
unless I have a good hill to get a run-up, or a road-train to tailgate!
All the best,
Pete

I was wondering why they bothered with that, the show is getting
a bit more than "obvious outcome but we will shatter this to bits
and the folk on the show need to explain all their movie part
roles" thing which kinda sux. Jamie needs to kick some arse!
I would not like to see it become a "Brainiac special"

It's a lot better on the back if you are tall, especially if you have a
short tray.

All?
He has three plus an opposable thumb.
And no, I don't know whether he was 'converted' by misadventure to
standard cartoon character hands or whether he was born that way.

But does the length of the tray in the ute make a difference.
The trucks they used had only a small cargo area ( double cab ute) .
What would happen if you used a Falcadore ute or the US equivalent
which has a much larger cargo area and only being a 2 door ute??
Bob.

yep, and i cant say anything for fuel economy, but it saves perhaps a 10th
of a second at the andra drags in sydn/melb etc when the ls1 utes get out
there.

Nope, I'm rather certain that's Sylvester.. and we can only presume the
three-toed sloth was once five toed, having put one toe up a barrel and
the loss of the other caused by cosmic rays.

I owned two Hilux tray back utes and both went better with the rear gate
and sides removed
the old 83 Hilux was good for another 15kph and the crappy 85 Hilux was
good for another 10kph
Maybe if they used one of our underpowered diesel utes they would see a
difference
