Funny you should mention solid front axle. Rear seal which
I had done a bodgy install of to stop grease leaking on
drivers side front - pending time that, Arrr Hum (sheepish
look on face) didn't happen to do a proper rebuild, gave way
or otherwise badly shat grease on the disc on way to work and
have come home from work early today (the last portion of that
drive was "interesting" and in the rain) to further clean/bodgy
it up to last until l/weekend.
Left turn? - who needs a steering wheel! :-)
Cummins 4BT or any number of other diesels would be better than
spark ignition rubbish :-p
I'm all for removing the IFS crap. Someone up the road from me
was selling this that had the conversion:

One of the most common things done to Hiluxes(Tacoma) in the US
not so common here because up until recently we could still get a solid
front Hilux but with the dropping of it in the late 90's this will
become popular here
I hav also seen some with complete coil conversions as well, Bundera
bits can be used here
only one drawback(depending on your view I guess), it lifts the front
about 5 inches higher than it was which means you also have to lift the
rear to match

Solid front axle with coils would be an ideal solution.

No worries, the aftermarket suspension bits are all available to
fix/replace the rear. Feck, many folk can prolly make them
themselves.
