Everyone is talking about it in NSW, I better grab a copy of BF2 while i can.
PS, Don't they lose profit? or do they get these full version games for free?

Well these pizza hut games are the full retail code but you don't get a paper instruction book and they come in a CD case not the oversized DVD cases they normally come with. They still make a major profit on them, what it costs like a couple of dollars to manufacture the game and EA have sold enough copies of the games are normal price to have made money :D

Indeed - these games aren't exactly latest releases either. For example, you can get NFS: MW for $US19.99 retail. So Pizza Hut would no doubt be getting them for a lot less than that.

I guess but it's still a great deal for us :)

I got BF2.
It is kinda buggy.
Patches (3) are big 350+.
I haven't played yet(installed and I have played the demo)
I'm guessing the EA warehouse has lot's and lot's of games (overstockes) waiting there to do sumtin.
But I play COD2.

3 patches? More like 7.
Remembering the game is over a year old, and no doubt the release was 1.0, I don't see this as a big deal.
I just update F.E.A.R the other day with a 411mb patch to take it from V1.0 to V1.05.

But these patches actually make a diffrence to gameplay IMO. 3 years ago patches fixed minor things only - they couldn't be bothered fixing the big things becuase not many poeple will download a huge patch. Nowdays perfect gameplay is important so developers will constantly be releasing patches.

I told you so:p Even with a average/good computer like i have now, i find that BF/Vietnam and also BF2 don't work at there best and at some times it gets frozen for no apparent reason or gameplay slows down for a little while. COD2 on the other hand does work great on my computer becuase it adapts to my class of computer. Maybe i will verse you sometime after i have finished work in a month :p:rolleyes:

Obviously the patches are intended to remove certain bugginess from the game, which the BF2 patches usually do, but i've found some of the patches have introduced new bugs to the game. The latest 1.3 patch has added some new elements to the game which is good. If anyones interested the list of patches is:
1.02, 1.03, 1.12, 1.2, 1.21, 1.22, 1.3. Alot of patches which, unfortunately, ALL must be installed.

So they have to be installed in order to install patch 1.3? Dam patches.

Yeah it wouldn't let me do it any other way, though all 7 patches only came to a total 655MB, the client patches being alot smaller than the server patches, the smallest being 9.29MB and the largest 280MB.

So if you patched every game you bought assuming the scenario was the one above, You would waste ALOT of GB. Better get a bigger Harddrive while am at it :|

never thought id be soo happy my brother was store manager of our local pizza hut, although the last deal had the sims 2 and i already have most wanted on xbox.

but battlefeid 2 is a real good deal as im pretty sure it still sells for around $50 on ebay, of course thats only if its the online version with cd key that we're getting from Pizza Hut, can anyone confirm that? it looks like it according to the picture on there website. I would ask my brother but W.A. Pizza Hut's dont recieve the games untill next week.

ill ask my brother if he knows how much the games cost pizza hut to buy when he recieves them at his store.

Doesn't take that long slackass. I know what you mean though. I reinstalled Bf2 after reformatting, then later on decided to install the Special Forces expansion, but of course BF2:SF re-patches the game to 1.1 or some crap, so then i had to reinstall all patches after 1.1 (5 all up i think) but then SF wouldn't play, giving an error message that a file was missing, so then i had to uninstall the lot and start again, tho i didn't worry with SF this time because i was somewhat upset from before. When will someone design a computer that answers back when you swear your head off at it? That would be fun, aslong as it's made of Titanium.
