Not that I follow Melbourne, but seeing Collingwood getting pumped -
makes for an enjoyable afternoon. :-) Now I hope the Socceroos can get
up tonight.

It was great to watch. Not that Melbourne didn't earn the win, but I can't
remember seeing a game where so many uncanny breaks went to one team. It was
just dropping for them all day.

That reminds me, does anyone know where in Adelaide I can buy a Japanese
flag on a public holiday?

Collingwood have won against a lot of lesser teams so far this year. I didnt
think twice in tipping Melbourne to beat them. Though I did think it would
be a little closer.

Same here. I tipped Collingwood today and also St Kilda last week.
Melbourne are to be rated so it seems.

Its the boring jumper. Mind you, all the Victorian teams jumpers are
boring ;-)

Although Fremantle takes it too far the other way. ;-)

I tipped the Pies, so it shows what I know.
For some reason I can't seem to rate Melbourne no matter how well they're
going.
It must be the lack of big names other than Neitz and Robbo, or the boring
jumper, but they're a very good even side no doubt about it.
Carlton beat them round 1, must have been a full moon or something.

Well, you do make your own luck although Yze's goal was certainly out
of the ordinary. Collingwood seemed to have the umpires on side for
most of the game with several soft free kicks going their way.

The same place you buy an Aboriginal flag on Australia day no doubt.

Most definitely. They were bloody awesome today and truly thrashed the
hapless 'pies everywhere on the ground. A well deserved victory by the Dees.

Nah the Pies record against top sides is crap
They have been smashed by the top sides
They now play 4 more "top" sides to finish the
first loop of H&A be interesting to see how many
they can win in the next 8 with a run of
Sydney(4), Richmond(9), StKilda(7), Fremantle(8), West Coast(1),
Hawthorn(13), Adelaide(2) given their form against the top
sides only Hawks & Freo would you have them favourites

They are 8/3 but I don't see them finishing any better than 13/9
Of the contenders for 3/4 (I can't see Weagles or Scroats giving up 1/2)
Sydney 15/7 Doggies 14/8 Melbourne 14/8 Sainters 14/8
Collingwood 13/9 Freo 12/10 Richmond 11/11
Port 12/10 (smoky like last year) and thats it the rest
can't make it (unless the Cats have a massive form
reversal but they will need to go 9/2 or 8/3 at worst)

The Pies will have to beat two of their fellow 3/4 contenders
to secure a top 4 spot (their percentage helps a lot)
unfortunately for them they only play them once
so no return game when they go down

The only top 8 side they have beaten is the Doggies
and from what I saw of that game a full strength
Doggies would easily have accounted for them
(For mine if the Doggies are at full strength
come September they are a better chance than
either Melbourne, Collingwood or StKilda)

But hey, in the final wash they have beaten all the
flotsam and jetsom below them which is a good
starting point.
