region coding and DSE DVD Recorder

I have a DSE DVD Recorder with 120GB Hard Driver G1926.
It plays everything in my collection (including US imports of Newsies,
Young Einstien and all 7 police academy movies) EXCEPT for my US imports of
Star Trek II and The Dish. It gives some region error.
Anyone know how to get this to work? Do I need a region unlock code? If so,
what is it?
The fact that the other 3 US disks play makes me suspicious...

Perhaps RPC2 which, I think, prevents a disc from playing in a region-free
machine.
Check the DSE website for how to change the region code of the machine.

Ring DSE Product Support and ask them. I did this for a portable DVD player
from DSE and the guy just read the instructions and codes out to me over the
phone. I got the impression they do it all the time.

press 2 -for DSE brand.
