I can't find any info on why there is a man- vacuum controlled inlet bellow
which effectively seems to be another gas-flow control in the gas-gear
bolt-on, on the dual-fuel carby on a Cleveland. It does suppress backfires
by making a "bluuurp" sound once when the ig-timing was out. Perhaps that is
its function (to make farting sounds?).

If you apply suction to the vac-line running to it, it raises up collapsing
on itself.

tks for any comments Jason

This is on a sprint gas mixer used with an omvl convertor?

If so, there should be a vacuum solenoid with a check valve between that
solenoid and manifold vacuum. The solenoid should be powered from the
same circuit as the petrol solenoid.

It's function is to hold the top plate of the mixer fully up out of the
air flow to reduce the restriction whilst running on petrol. Nothing to
do with running on LPG, and it won't run on LPG with this up...

The state of infrastructure in New South Wales is a disgrace.
I'm a Libran Engineer. I don't argue, I discuss.

Thanx for that Athol,..I'll check the solenoid you mentioned,..when it stops
raining,..hope that takes a while out here!
