I been trying to restore my EA ford falcon, but have run into a few
issues
1). Poor starting, engine cutting out without warning
(NOW FIXED, I THINK... installed earth from engine to
chassis)
2). Ignition lights come on with headlights / park lights fuel gauge
reads full (when empty lol)
desporately seeking help with this
3). Turn ign to ACC and the fan wipers etc power up, sort of

prob... (unfortunately i a bit broke as the car got busted into an all
my sounds got nicked)

Join http://www.fordforums.com.au/ and they have scans of the EA factory
workshop manual wiring diagrams online.
All it takes is an email address so they can send you a password.
And there's a run of other crap online as well as almost as much shit as
you'll find here........
Also check the headlight overload relay thingy that can short internally as
a mate had in his EB, caused all sorts of strange intermittent symptoms
until it finally shorted good and made smoke so it could be found.
Hope this helps,
Pete

Got matches? ;-)
Sounds like there's a bad earth/short *somewhere* (not familiar with EA
falcons, sorry.) Around the ignition barrel or fusebox itself perhaps?
Or a shagged ignition barrel. Try jiggling the key around while the
car is running.
As far as wiring diagrams go, get yourself a Gregory's manual (cheap) or
a genuine Ford manual (more expensive but much, much more thorough.)
Hope this helps,
Andy.

You need to wait a few more years...it has me curious to know if they
will ever be worth anything, have noidea why someone would pay $30k for
one.

Mine had that problem...I just drove it and lived with it.

Do they use relays or are the dash/column-controls for the wipers and fan
used to switch power to these accessories directly? It sounds like there are
no relays for these, and there is a wiring fault, possibly due to attempted
repairs or addition of after-market stuff at one stage.
I had a similar fault to 3 when foreign volts got to the ignition coil on a
Passat. They then backfeeded to these accessories thru the ballast resistor
(meaning the volts were much lower due drop across BR). The accessories were
in the ON position at the dash tho.
