I'm trying to find cars which are available in all wheel drive. I know
that this is a feature of all Subaru vehicles, but I was wondering which
other brands offer it in Australia.

4 door sedans? Mitsubishi Lancer EVO. I drive a Verada AWD which is superb.

Cars I know of that have AWD:
BMW - 3-Series (325xi, 330xi), 5-Series (525xi, 530xi)
Jaguar - X-Type
Honda - Legend
Mazda - Mazda6 MPS
Mercedes - E-Class (4Matic)
Volkswagen - Golf, Jetta, Passatt (4Motion)

To say that the Mazda is AWD is a little bit of a stretch in my opinion. It
sends drive to the rear when the front starts to slip - a bit like the
shonky CRV actually.
Genuine AWD should have 3 diffs.

Thanks. Sorry, that's what I meant. Your psychic powers must be
working ok today.

All *current* Subarus are AWD. This is only a recent thing though - many
older models are not.

I guess I didn't clarify that either. I'm really talking about current

Brands?
GM Holden, and Isuzu
Ford Territory and possibly Focarse models soon.
Nissan Murano+real trucks and Plenty of good AWD Skylines out there
slightly mis-used
Toyota Kludge+real trucks
Jaguar X type (I think it's called)
Volvo about three model ranges, including a 'road car' or two.
Subaru - natch
Mazda now has an AWD machine on aus.market - good on 'em.
Kia
Hyundai
Ssanyong.
Mercedes - maybe some road-car models - haven't checked lately.
BMW
Land-bloody-Rover
VAG - Audi and VW models including a van which is sorta AWD.
Chrysler Jeep - shitloads of stuff - including 300C just for a lark.
Honda. Well, sort of:-)
Some Indian company - Tata with a Ute?
I guess you should be asking which brands don't offer AWD stuff.
Of all of them, though, Volvo, Jaguar, Mazda, Chrysler-Jeep and VW are
the ones that offer variants of cars that are normally 2WD. Neither
Nissan nor Toyota do this here, though their home market is big time
into AWD variants.
Some have variants of their AWD chassis in 2WD - GM and Ford to name a
few. These are joke cars for 'keeping up appearances'
The AWD variants actually cost the same to register as their 2WD
brothers. This is good - because you can tear up twice as much road in
the AWD for the same GovCo user-pays penalty.

I already made the list in my above post. BMW, Honda, and Mercedes all make
4WD sedans/station wagons too.

Ok, fair enough. I also forgot:
Volvo - entire range (S40/S60/S80/V70, etc)

By "cars", do you mean sedans, hatchbacks, and wagons only, or also
things like soft-roaders such as the Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4?
I assume you mean sedans so the ones I can think of are:
Subarus, as you mentioned;
Mazda 6 MPS;
Audis (with quattro AWD system)
Volkswagen Golf R32 and Passat (both with 4motion AWD system)
Most of them are higher performance cars and cost $50k or more.
Ben.

Most older Subarus were FWD only.
The "Knob" has correctly identified one (mainly) Australian Model :-)
However there was a AWD "Sherpa", it was called "Justy".

Steer well clear of mitsubishi, unless you want to through good money away!
Resale value is abysmal, and the current vehicles are anything like the
earlier one, they wear out twice as fast as any other brand.
Subaru's are tough :-)

Bawahahahahaahah!!! Subaru Sherpa! How come it has terminal rust of it's
so tough?
Speaking of wasting good money, who would do a half-arse restoration of
a Jag then paint it with acrylic laquer in Mazda white! Gotta love the
orange peel effect there Ron. Looks just like a refrigerator. Even more
money wasted on the marine carpet on the floor and the dismal job on the
hood lining and wood. How much would it have costed to get someone to do
the hood lining properly? All of $200? you really are an idiot.
