Some of you may remember I had a small fire in my engine bay a couple
of months back. All sorted - carbies totally rebuilt, exhaust fixed.
So I go and get some new tyres (Yokohama " A drive" which seem to be
nice, not really fanged them yet) and on the way home a guy flags me
down, and offers me a roll bar that he's had sitting around for 15
years, ever since he sold his Datto! So bingo, a very nice roll bar
that bolts to the factory locations. Gotta be happy with that.
About four days later, a truck hits our bins at work, pushing them into
the little Datto, bends in the bumper, buckles the front left guard,
and pushes my car into the car behind it...
Cheers,
Steve

Damn. Hope they were insured. It will be a bastard getting panels for it.

Bugger. :-(
Hope you can get it fixed soon.

:)
Actually, I was remarkably restrained. There's no point telling an
idiot that they're a bloody idiot - people like him are too stupid to
understand the point you're trying to get across - even if you *are*
using 2x4 to do it.
Cheers,
Steve

I agree, but it sure can be thoroughly fucking therapeutic exercise :)
Hope it gets repaired soon, and to a standard you're happy with.

Thanks. Actually, the quote comes through today. And the guy I'm
using has done some work for another club member, so I know he's good.
He's done a lot of work restoring old Italian stuff - so he must be
good at dealing with rust, at least! :)
He even has a photo of a Ferrari GTO that he had for a few days after
it got dinged at the Phillip Island Historics - apparently he slept in
his workshop the whole time; it was insured for $11 million!
Cheers,
Steve

Lol :)
Anyone who specialises in repairing Italian cars must *really* love what he
does :)
