Just upgraded to an AMD 3700+ on an ASUS A8V-MX mobo.
Can this combination by overclocked, and if so, how ??
Thanks in advance...

"Zenen",
Overclocking with older boards produced better results.
These days overclocking can reduce the life of the mobo
by a factor of mmm lets say 4
I know people go to extremes to keep the processors cool,
heat extraction out of the case etc.
Almost to the point where it is no longer a
economical venture.
I guess its more a case of being a challenge then a
money saving venture.
If you do some overclocking then don't push the
activity too far or you might find yourself with a
useless pice of junk.
Enjoy have a fiddle with it.
My old P1 I have here is still running well at 233MHZ.
(200 Mhz spec.) Been that way since umm 1996 with
its normal fan plus one case at front and back.
Have fun mate,
Mitch...

Nah. poor choice of board. Very basic board, minimal essential overclocking
features. You should have gone for a modern PCI express chipset like the A8N
series.
