View Full Version : Dodgy Request - Salary Sacrifice and Inventive Invoicing

Got a dodgy request that someone in retail might be able to help me
with.
The company I work for allows salary sacrificing of laptop computers -
and apparently if you can get something invoiced as such, you can
actually buy almost anything you want.
I'm thinking a nice 42" HD Pana Viera Plasma might serve as a good
laptop. :-) Or does someone have another suggestion? Maybe I should
go for LCD?
Anyway, I've heard on the grapevine through other employees that some
salespersons will do up a dummy invoice to send to the employer listing
a laptop - obviously they would have to be working for a retailer that
sells both laptops and plasmas in order to make it work. So you end up
with a real invoice for the plasma for warranty purposes etc, and a
dummy that is faxed to the employer.
Anyone out there that might be able to steer me in the right direction?
Probably don't want to air such dirty laundry publicly so just email
privately if you like.
Much thanks in advance for helping out a grown man who feels like a
naughty schoolboy! :-)

Got to Harvey Norman and "arrange" to buy a laptop and exchange it a week
later for the plasma, having never taken the laptop out of the store....

You can do all sorts of things but remember, its not your employer you are
conning, its the tax office. There will be penalties if you get caught.
