And onto another subject with the accidents lately. I dont know if any of
you guys have done judo, wrestling or unarmed combat. But seems it is time
the art of falling became a must for training.

It is a simple half hour to an hour everyday or before training, but it will
halve the bad head slamming into the ground injurys at least. And even in
Caracella case it might have been less severe, it is just the strenghtening
of muscles around the neck, weak only from non use. And the automatic
reaction if you do the training.
I am not saying thatit will completely stop it, but it should cut it down.

not only falling but speed recovery time back to the feet
too many players don't roll when hit and consequently
they take longer to get up again, whereas allow the momentum
of the strike to carry you over and roll back up quickly

Yup and the only answer is practice, practice, practice as that is all that
makes the reaction time faster, and strenghtens the a[[ropiate muscles to
the old head waving like an oversize melon on a weak staulk.

And I'm sure should be able to work in goal kicking practice as well.

And talking about practice I have no patience with slacking of in tackling
and pace.

Mick good players put in their own time to excell. And if your players arent
interested enough to put in the extra time to rectify their faults, you are
going to have those games which maggies and cats have had where 2 players
play and the rest look like they did not arrive.

If they want examples in the extreme think of Bradman for a start.

But maybe not getting up is a ploy to get a free and/or to get the opposing
player cited for unnecessary rough play.
Seems like some of the players have been watching the soccer World Cup
sometimes. Saw a beautiful dive to simulate a trip last Friday night.
