Given that Israel was occupying Southern Lebanon until 2000, I expect
there were many attacks by Hezbollah against Israeli soldiers prior to
2000. I'd hardly call those unprovoked. Occupation has a tendency to
be considered very procative.

So you must mean thousands of Hezbollah attacks against Israeli
civilians since 2000 when the Israeli army withdrew from almost all of
Southern Lebanon. And you must mean prior to the bloody attacks made
by Israel against Lebanon mid-July. And you must not mean attacks
against Israeli military positions in the disputed Shab'a farms area.
Where are these thousands of attacks you speak of?

I checked out the UN Interim Forces In Lebanon site, and in their
reports, all I could find were mostly Israeli incursions into Lebanon
