I currently own a 1988 740T and am having issues. I recently replaced
my starter and upon placing the batery cables the alarm decided to arm
it self ( to include the imoblilzer ) and now the car will not start. I
know its the alarm cause if i arc the terminals on the selinoid at the
starter while someone is turning the key it turns right over or if i
pop the clutch while rolling. I also went under the dash to the alarm
module and fliped the toggle to the off position hoping that it would
disarm and to no avail. Does anyone know how to A: either disable the
factory alarm that came with this car or B: know how this alarm is
supposed to work so i can get this car started. This is the wierdest
alarm ive ever seen it has a rectangle fob that your supposed to swipe
across a senson attached to the winshield and its supposed to
deactivate unfortunatly it does not. Any help with this issue would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
