Black Bezel for a Lite-On SHW165P6S

Hi All,

I bought a beige OEM Lite-On SHW165P6S Burner a couple of months back for my beige computer - not thinking I might replace the machine so soon, which I have.

The new machine turned out to be black (I never asked about colour actually) and it looks a bit "dicky" with a beige burner in it.

Anyone have, or now how to get hold of a black bezel set (front panel & tray front) for this drive. I do know that the retail boxed version comes with both, so if anyone wants to sell theirs I'd be interested (and no! not for $70, before some smarty says so).

Last time I had to buy a black bezel from my supplier for a LiteOn drive it was $5

Looks like I have scored a free one from a nice guy (Fred) on usenet.

So fingers crossed - ugly drive fixed .... funny how little things can annoy me so much ..... I know it doesn't make a real difference.

I was going to say, if you can't find yourself one, just take it off and give it a quick spray with the paint can and they come up pretty well.

I was going to paint it - as you suggest, then I thought "what the hell" I'll ask around on the off chance ..... and there you go!

I can't seem to reward Fred with anything either .... just a nice guy I suppose 8D

Hi All ... Just to let you know that "Fred" on usenet (aus.computers) is a really nice guy and I recieved the spare Black Bezel he had in perfect condition.

Could't give they guy anything in return, and it cost him $3+ dollars to post!

So if you ever run into "Fred" be nice to him - he's a usefull guy to know.
