Hey Everyone,
I've started working on a song in Fruity Loops, and for those of you interested in Rave/Trance/ect Genres, or anyone for that matter, I'd really like to hear your opinion on what I'm doing so far.

You'll definatly not be able to tell from this rough work.. but I've been told that I have ... sorta my own genre of music. I dunno
It has only just began, but I think I'd like a few suggestions/helpfull critisisms/ COMMENTS! on it.

Here's a link;

Thanks in advance
Grim

that link just takes me to mega upload site, not to your song so I doubt you're going to get many comments on it.

K,
all You need to do is to put in the three letters in the box, to the top right of the page.
Please tell me what you think :)

Hey Grim man, Is that your own song you mean?

I liked it, it could have gone on for quite a bit longer I think though... because I did like it I guess. Personally, my all time favorite techno songs have been more of the 30 to 40 minute long variety and it's really really rare to find one that long that's good with enough variation in and of a nature that I like to begin with. As a short song though, it's fine how it is but extending it in narrow ways so that it's a 3 1/2 or more minute affair would probably be acceptable and taking it onto an almost completely disconnected tangent might work too and maybe work well if an association was drawn back in at the end of that tangent. I don't know anything about music so I hope that made sense.

Edit: Bringing back more of that JuJu that comes in at 1 minute 15 and 1 minute 18 seconds or so and appending it to the end of the song maybe? Sounds like that stuff can take it's own direction a little more for a little while, if you're looking to extend it. I really do like it how it is though.

Thanks Very much for the commending MD, and yes, it was my song ;)
I'm really happy for your comments and suggestions though, I think they're excellent!:]
Truth is that the song could go longer, mind you I'm not finished yet, but I think it should go on longer that where I Intended it to go.

Great Idea man.. I know exactly what you mean, its something those other DJs do.. they carry it into a ... bridge of some sorts, right? If thats what you're saying.. I thinks its a great Idea, and I think I'm going to drop the stringed-sounding instrument in the background.. and continue with some of the more pluckish sounding ones, as well as the Drums.

Thank you VERY much for listening though MD, I've never really had someone who listens to such music... really comment on my attemps to bring out the melodies that are built in my mind from day to day. (Hardly anyone listens such in Jamaica.. DANCEHALL! >.< )
But in any case, thanks for listening man, its really nice to know someone at least likes what I do, I'll be letting you hear it when I start working on it again, (ie, a soon as I get my machine up and running ;))
Might let you hear a few others too :)

Thanks for listening soundboy ;)

I had a listen, but it's really not the kind of music I get into, so I can't comment on it without being biased, but I admire the fact you're composing your own music and putting it out there for scrutiny, regardless of whether I understand where you're coming from with that style of music. Music is an amazing force in this world, though unfortunately alot of people don't give it the time or recognition it deserves, and never consider the passion and hard work that goes into making music, be it a 'pop' song with a short shelf life, or something that transcends time and genre and is still relevant 30-40-50 years later.

What you've said about music is very true Freddy, I appreciate it that despite you diffrernt taste in music... you can appreciate the work that goes into music.
Thank very much for listening.

You should consider getting an account at www.acidplanet.com
You can upload your songs their for others to listen, or even download loopacks and that sort of thing. There's a link to my account in my sig, too.
The song is currently downloading so I can't comment.

Yeah it pretty much sounded like part of an unfinished song. ie, it was good, except not really just on its own.
