Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section... but it's as much related to divX if not not more, as it is to laptops. I was wondering if there was a "hack" or upgrade available to make the "Express Media Player" that came installed on my Toshiba M50 play DivX files.

I have googled for hours, and haven't come up with any sort of support on it. It's not a big deal i guess, but if it supports divX, then I can use it as a portable DivX player...

thanks for ur help

Not that I know much about Express Media Player, but have you tried installing the Xvid/DivX codec first and then attempt to playback .AVI files through Express media Player? It may be as simple as that.

Um, If there is a way to install the codecs to express media player, thats all I am looking for.

I can play all divx etc files once windows has booted up, but express media player does not require that the computer be switched on.

I would highly doubt it, but worth a trawl over at the DivX / Xvid forums (http://www.xvidmovies.com/), I would suggest.
