Back in, only because the garage is down hill from the street and
curves, plus my garage is very narrow (have to flip my side mirrors
in).....

How do you get out of the car? Through the sunroof, or the boot?

Riiiight.....not that narrow, it's just it takes good aim and
concentration (plus a perfectly straight track) to get past the lift
beams on my garage door even with the mirrors in.....

Have a similar problem with the Patrol, once I'm in I have to make sure not
to line the front doors up with the concrete stumps, to get out. Point is
moot now I've lifted suspension, I'm 20mm to high to fit anymore anyway, so
usually let 2 tyres down if I want to work with the front or back in the
garage

I learnt this the hard (and expensive) way once during the first few
weeks I had the vehicle.....

Blech, I also have small garage. 'lux only just fits height wise
(by ... gets out tape measure ... 19 mm) and length wise to the
point have to fairly have front end up against the wall to close
the door on the garage. I actually park at an angle in with front
pax corner of vehicle fairly much hard up against the two walls
in order to more easily get in and out of driver side door.

Folk who build small garages need heads beaten into pulp
for giving other folks the screaming shites for the rest of their
lives!

As someone with a 1970 Valiant four door sedan, I absolutely
unreservedly agree!

Cheers,

Andy. (The other Andy.)

When we built our house a few years ago I deliberately changed the plans to make the 'standard' double garage an extra 60 cm wider. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it means we can park my car in backwards and I can open the door easy, and my wife's Astra in forwards (she's female therefore can't reverse straight) and can open all doors to get the little fella out. It was one of the best bits of advice I ever got.

My wife prefers to reverse into our garage. I taught her how to reverse.

Perhaps you need to teach her more.

I'd say he has a normal female for a wife.
What's your story?

;-) ;-) Just in case you miss the first two. ;-)

Actually now that I think about it, it would be impossible
to reverse into garage without serious damage to vehicle.

Think single cab 4x4 pickup, and the 1st third of the floor
slopes up. Roof of vehicle would hit top of garage door.
