Hello E-taxi group,
Need help with a case of being hit by a stolen yellow cab with
altered vin in a staged accident in Atlanta. After the accident, I
discovered that the 1994 Ford Crown Vic has a 1997 vin plate taken off
a wrecked NYC taxi. In essence, yellow cab is switching vins to make
these cabs appear newer and to conceal stolen identities but also to
committ insurance fraud and launder money. It took over a year to get
local police to do anything since they govern taxi industry and 200+
taxis were impounded based on my evidence. This prompted revocation
hearing by police chief and mayor but no public record of settlement.
Recently, Wasington D.C. Insurance dept. examined Crown insurance owned
by the same taxi owner who also owns VFH Captive in Atlanta and they
found a lot of violations regarding vins, policies, etc. This is a
multi-state issue of fraud and laundering. Vehicles are being
overvalued by switching vins and cars are being used as overvalued
collateral against medallion loans. I have been aggrieved both
personally and financially by this corruption and can''t seem to get
anything done but no one person has said I am wrong. My insurance Geico
left me out to hang. WSBTV news article below. Please help !
Thanks.

The cab company is accused of engaging in questionable record keeping
by substituting vehicle identification numbers from newer vehicles in
the place of numbers for older cabs. The allegation is a violation of
criminal law and the city's taxi cab age ordinance.
At least three people are facing felony charges in connection with the
incidents.
