Does Telstra still offer a subsidy to rural customers who need a satellite
dish to gain broadband internet access?

I believe it's called HIBIS, and to my knowledge is still available.

Telstra does NOT offer the subsidy, the feds do. You do not have to choose
our national carrier, some of the minor player like Westnet also do the
HIBIS thing.

Broadband Connect. A mate just got a subsidised wireless internet
connection with a local ISP. He lives on a farm. No ISDN, no ADSL, etc.
