both subs work but when connected only one will work why

ok well i got 800 watt amp.. with 2 12 inch .. and when there hooked up
only one sub will work.. i dunno if my amp is broken or is my wires are
bad....cause the 2 subs will turn on until i put the rca cords all the
way in then it goes to just one sub .. so anyone know whats up

Are these 'powered' subs? If not your amp, obviously, hasn't got enough
power to drive them.

You say you have an 800 watt output on your amp, but we don't know , what
that power is rated at, 4 ohm, 8ohm, or even 2 ohm's You also don't say
what brand your amp is or if it's a power // pre combo, or a combined
sound processer, with a tuner. ????

There are a number of reasons why your amp is only working on one channel ,
but if it,s OK before you connect, what ever your connecting via the RCA's
then that is the fault, and the amp is simply tripping out on it's safety
circuits, .

Why and what are you connecting via RCA, surly not the speakers, there
should be large binding posts on an amp of that size . You say your only
using
one speaker per channel, which is very strange, unless your talking about
a Guitar amp, which would then account for the large output and the single
speaker.
Please supply more details.. If you want help.
