Steven Bowditch makes a dollar!
After previous results of DQ, CUT, CUT, CUT, DQ, WD, CUT, WD, CUT, DQ,
CUT, CUT ... Bowditch finished T74 (+3) in the Reno Tahoe Open and earnt
$5640. A mere $7,645,000 behind Tiger!
Bowditch has been fighting horrendous swing problems (including shanks)
and has been medically diagnosed with depression.
But maybe from little things, big things grow.

Duval? Can't get more "opposite" of the spectrum than that!
Can't understand it. I watched him hit balls at Medinah and he didn't
hit one crooked drive!

Duval's nearly got it back this year. Whether or not he has to go
through Q school next year, I don't know. I'm not up on my PGA
exemptions.

Duval is sitting 159th on the money list this year. Needs to get to
125 to avoid having to use his next most likely exemption (if he wants
a full "tour card" schedule in 2007)...the single-year Top 25 or
single-year Top 50 on the career money list. Duval currently sits
24th, so one of those exemptions could be in jeopardy if he doesn't
perform well here in the last eight or so events left on the schedule
for 2006 and if two players were to pass him (Sergio is 25th...$900K
behind). But after Sergio, there doesn't look to be anyone "active"
that's within $2m other than Bob Estes at 26th (who took 2nd last week
at Reno). Bob would have to make over $1.24 million....doable,
yes....likely, no.
I would guess Duval will use the Top 25 in career earnings exemption
for next year, and the Top 50 in 2008, and then rely on sponsors
exemptions for part time status after that (if he's still interested in
playing).

Well, no, in a way. But Bowditch is at the very bottom of the USPGA
money list, Tiger is at the very top. Tiger has missed one cut, Bowditch
has *made* one.

I don't know. There aren't very many players who have been #1, get
big money from Nike, and are known by the fans.
His problem isn't playing dumb either.
And it looks as though he will keep his Tour card another year.
