I think we're a show, and if we do win and Freo finally loses a game (not
much chance of that) we will play Adelaide @ AAMI 2 weeks in a row! Sheesh!

Yes and no. If Melbourne win, I really, really hope Richmond win as well.
This is selfish - I'd rather Freo play Adelaide in the first final since it's an away game and not an pseudo away derby.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the Swans are still in with a real
show of this flag. If they come up against Freo, I fully expect them to
humiliate them. Only side that can beat Sydney, I believe, is Collingwood.

Yes, in a close finish. But I expect Adelaide will give it their best.

Mad as it may sound, I'd rather play Freo in the finals in week 1 than our
other potential opponents Melb & Syndney
Everything will be in Freos favour - just like it was in 2003.

Yes, but Neitz v Rutten is the key match-up. If Rutten can shut him down,
then Adelaide will have a big chance, but if Neitz fires the Crows could cop
a bit of a pasting...

If they can beat Freo - which they have shown this year they are at best evenly matched, and of late no match.

Freo did quite well against Sydney at the SCG, until the last 2/3 of the last quarter. But they have learned to win since then - gosh even Geelong (as I predicted) beat Sydney.
The Wiggles would have learned quite a bit about Roos and Sydney by their narrow loss last year at the GF.
Besides that, if Sydney are out of the 4 (quite possible), I can't see them winning 4 games straight to win another flag.
If the ladder remains as is, then possibly:
Week 1.
WCE (1) v Melbourne (4) at Subiaco. Winner WCE (1).
Adelaide (2) v Fremantle (3) at Football Park. Winner Fremantle (3).
Sydney (5) v Western Bulldogs (8) at SCG. Winner Sydney (5).
Collingwood (6) v St. Kilda (7) at MCG. Winner Collingwood (6).
Week 2.
Melbourne (4) v Sydney (5) at MCG. Winner Sydney (5).
Adelaide (2) v Collingwood (6) at Football Park. Winner Adelaide (2).
Week 3.
Fremantle (3) v Sydney (5) at Subiaco. Winner Fremantle (3).
WCE (1) v Collingwood (6) at Subiaco. Winner WCE (1)
Grand Final.
WCE (1) v Fremantle (2). Winner WCE (1). (But I'd hope for Freo.)
If Melbourne lose against Adelaide this week, and Sydney do make the 4, then possibly:
Week 1.
WCE (1) v Sydney (4) at Subiaco. Winner WCE (1).
Adelaide (2) v Fremantle (3) at Football Park. Winner Fremantle (3).
Collingwood (5) v Western Bulldogs (8) at MCG. Winner Collingwood (5).
St. Kilda (6) v Melbourne (7) at MCG. Winner St. Kilda (6).
Week 2.
Sydney (4) v St. Kilda (6) at SCG. Winner Sydney (4).
Adelaide (2) v Collingwood at Football Park. Winner Adelaide (2).
Week 3.
Fremantle (3) v Adelaide (2) at Subiaco. Winner Fremantle (3).
WCE (1) v Sydney (4) at Subiaco. Winner WCE (1).
Grand Final.
WCE(1) v Fremantle (3). Winner WCE (1). (Again, I'd hope for Freo.)
Either path for Sydney is difficult, but who knows what the actual draw will be? For Sydney, finishing outside the 4 is almost certainly the death of their defence of their premiership.

Except in this option you mention, with Eagles finishing first & Swans
fourth, Eagles would actually play Adelaide in the prelim & the Dockers
would play Sydney. In which case it would be a much closer contest one
would think that a WCE v Syd prelim.

Yep, see that. But the game would still be at Subiaco, and I honestly believe we can beat Sydney the way we go about the game now.
