View Full Version : metal cage thingy inside new HP

just opened a mates fairly recent hp pavilion and find the hard drive
is mounted under this metal cage thingy. it goes the full width of the
chassis and goes into the case almost to the processor heat sink....it
slides forward so you can detach the hard drive from it....
the rear of it has a cable to the psu and another to a header on the
board..
what the f!$#%&^%k is that thing???

It's just HP's way of making something over-complicated and non-integratable
with anything else.
