need a car that has 270 kw when you only really have speed limits of a
maximum of 110 in some areas

i blame v8 owners for sucking up our fuel and oil supplies

I blame those old people that drive slowly, gobbling gas, when they
could have driven at twice the speed and been there in half the time
thus conserving our precious resources.

Well, for a start, the power of a car has no necessary connection to the
number of cylinders nor has the amount of noise they make nor the fuel
consumption. As a matter of fact V8s tend to be quieter than many otherwise
similar cars. And I can think of any number of V8 engined cars with far
less power than you quote, and, of course many more powerful ones with less
(or occasionally more) than eight cylinders. And there are parts of
Australia that do have speed limits above 110 anyway, in case you had not
noticed.

Fuel would actually cost more if larger capacity engines disappeared. It's
