THE Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is dead.
He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said. It is
understood he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his
chest.
He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater
documentary and that's when it occured.
Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning
at Batt Reef off Port Douglas.
Wonder if he said Crikey or Oh What A Feeling

Not suprising with the shite he got up to, has been asking
for a Darwin Award for some time now.
Well at least apparantly died while doing what he liked, I
guess.

A bit gay I recon.
I would *much* rather have seen the silly cunt get his head bitten off by a
rhinoceros or some such.

That's possible, however I'd still be wondering
that the next thought/statement still *wasn't* a
sensible "Oh shite, I should have realized by
now that fscking around with critters that have
sharp, pointy and/or very poisonous bits (and
are adept at using said bits) in order for me to
give them the screaming shites is prolly best
done while wearing appropriate protective
clothing, and not trying to put as much bare
skin on display while doing so".
Now, the burning Q is was the event filmed,
and will the footage be made available?
Anyway sorry for his family, however on this
he had only himself to blame.
He was amusing to watch though.

What a bummer. One of the few people I genuinely have looked up to on
this shitty planet. Some people used to take a patronising view of him,
me, I think all Aussies should be a little more like him.
Condolensces to his wife and children.

I agree. I didn't like Steve until I saw him on Denton where it was clear
that his act wasn't an act, it was just him.
I admire him for his passion for genuinely caring about the planet and all
it's creatures and actually doing something about educating the dumb masses
in a manner they could identify with.
Shame that's he's gone.

My ole man meet him after one of his Crock shows at Aust Zoo. His
personality just wept enthusiasm and passion for what he believed in. If it
wasn't crocodiles he would've been called an evangelist.
Sad that he had to go while his children were so young though.
Condolences to his family.

The Bindy Show of course. Although I seriously doubt that she would have
the strenth to hold Bob over a crocs mouth yet.

He wanted to do the best most likely for his "pets", however was
also a bit too showey for his own good.
His interaction with animals "techniques" more than might of
left them wondering "WTF? I'm gunna chew this c**ts arse
orf" and I'll agree with them to an extent.
No human, or animal is gunna take kindly to behaviour
that would change what it was doing at the time.

Well, enjoyed himself, I guess.
I've got an *extreme adversion* to being old and *seriously* do
not want to last past the age of 60 or so. It's all a lot about how
you feel about yourself, and the world in general.
Wanna be Darwinian, go for it. As another poster mentioned
better than the big C. There is an end point there for all of us.
{looks left and right} I think he was just a little too Darwinian
though.
