It appears there is just about to be a small cost increase
due to some extra coverage, don't completely understand
it, however already received my bill for when due before
the end of the month so didn't cop the increase for another
year.

This is to cover hit and run "Ooops, hope no one saw that",
or unregoed vehicles where driver could not be identified,
or if could be, simply does not have the cash to even think
about getting started on paying that?

Urk, yup now that I think about it, some prick could feck
up any of the rest of us without anyone being the wiser,
might be an idea to extend that to everyone.

special children's benefit. This means that all children injured in
car accidents in NSW will receive the necessary treatment,
rehabilitation and care to assist in their recovery, regardless of who
was at fault

Ahh. False advertising in the lead up to an election. What a surprise.

The only person not covered by CTP insurance is the "at fault" driver.

The "nominal defender" scheme covers the scenario where the at fault
driver is unregistered and uninsured by making one of the insurance co's
be their insurer for the purpose of claims relating to that one event.

Hence, unless a child is an "at fault driver", they are _always_ covered
under existing law. About all it could possibly do is increase the level
of benefits for children &/or reduce the cost of the nominal defender
scheme to the insurance co's by increasing overall premiums.

Current Greenslip is fault based....the child must prove that someone
is at fault.....Not required under the new scheme
