I know that this unit has been discontinued. However I want to get another one.
This is the player that can do idx/sub files well and plays most avi files.
I have looked at many places and called them up and so far to no avail. Have called up many distributers and reseller listed on Zensonic web site. Have also contacted Zensonic too.
Anyone can help with locating a unit?
The last one I got from Strathfield Slack Creek was $129.
Thanks.

I guess you got those above from Staticice?
the Photech computer web site listed the player as being discontinued. Tried to call them several time and it got rang out and then answered by a fax tone.
Looking into ARC now

I have a (now superceeded) DF9921P and It has not faultered on a avi/divx/xvid/mpeg4 file yet. Streets ahead of the Z300 it replaced.
There is a newer model at around $145 from memory that sounds to be pretty good - it has USB in like the Z340 had (from memory).
It's my personal opinion, but I think the Z'ds are really built to last the warrantee period and that's it.

Is this the one? http://au.lge.com/md/product/prodcategorylist.do?actType=detail&currPage=1&categoryId=0200000302&parentCategoryId=0200000003&categoryLevel=3&productId=1100000666
Looks like that is the only model that plays divx according to this page http://au.lge.com/md/product/prodcategorylist.do?actType=list&categoryId=0200000302&parentCategoryId=0200000003&categoryLevel=3
add : Hmm .... just noticed that this is a slot loading machine. That could easily scratch the DVD won't it?

The one I have is a slot loader, and yes, I was a bit sus at first - but it is yet to scratch or have a disk stuck in it.
I was only thinking the other day that I hadn't "scared" myself by nearly breaking the tray when I went to grab a disk ... my old Z300 copped a lift under the tray a couple of times, that I am sure I was lucky not to have snapped it off.
No tray - nothing to get bumped, broken, jammed, or otherwise hooked up.
Now that I have said this - the slot loader will start playing up! he he

Oh, in that case it would be worth consider then.
Anyone else has their disc scratch with front loader?

I haven't seen anyone complaining of scratched discs, the only mention I have seen of problems is with discs with labels attached or rental discs with stickers around the centre getting stuck due to being slightly too thick.
There are some new players coming (still 4 to 6 weeks away though) that might also suit your needs and give you the type of file handling you're after

Thanks for the feedback.
I still have great problem locating a Z340. :| When those new players arrive, can you please PM me with their brand name and model? Thanks for your help again.:)

I may forget by then so feel free to remind me if I do, if you want to find out if the specific file types you want to deal with are supported send a PM to Andw, he has a pre release sample at the moment and could probably advise if it does what you want or not (time permitting of course, not trying to nominate Andw for any extra workload)

If you let me know by PM, I can try for you.
(the pre-release is looking good at the moment. also does idx/sub, even with the correct colors)
