View Full Version : Retrospect V6 causes Bluetooth failure

I moved my backup unit (Maxtor 300GB) from 1 PC to another PC which
has a Bluetooth Kbd/mouse.
Having installed Retrospect V6, as soon as it starts to run I get the
following error message -
Bluetooth licence check failed. Please make sure thet the Bluetooth
device is pluggedin/turned on, the device you are using is licenced
for this software and that your licence has not expired.

If I uninstall Retrospect it works fine - re-install and the Bluetooth
fails.

Any ideas please?

Thanks
Pete

Contact Dantz technical support and ask if their product is known to cause
issues with bluetooth devices, and if there are any updates to their software
that address the issue.

Your problem could be one of a few things:

1) Both the USB drive (Maxtor) and the Bluetooth dongle might be part of the
same USB "root hub" Split them up if you can

2) Not enough power to USB devices. Try adding a powered USB hub.

Thanks Yves, I should have mentioned that the connection is 1394
firewire.

Thanks
Pete
