Virgin prepaid-checking balance

Any way to check balance for free? Seems a bit absurd to be charged 20c each
time u wanna check your balance!! Also do they give you some sort of
notification when your credit is running low??

http://www.virginmobile.com.au/ under "My Account". But this
facility seems to be down at the moment, and I can't remember
how I originally set up a password for it.
