I have an avi movie that will play sound in my pioneer 676a dvd player, but no video (all that comes up is the pioneer logo).

VirtualDubMod says that the video codec is xvid. My dvd player plays every other xvid avi file I have. Anyone know why it wont play this xvid avi file ???

Any help would be appreciated.

Open the file with Gspot, and if the file is encoded with 3 warp point GMC, that's probably the problem. Seems most divx players can't handle Xvid with GMC.

I gave Gspot a crack. It didn't detect it as having GMC. Bugger.

What resolution is it?
If it is greater than 720 wide or 576 high, then most players won't give you video as it is more than the chip can handle.

Resulotion is 1024 x 448....oopps
