View Full Version : Grant to Play On

Great news for Doggies fans...the legendary club games record holder,
Chris Grant, has decided to play on for another season. In a team
buzzing with anticipation, this is great news. Grant did not miss a
game in '06, proving the cynics wrong that he was passed it. With
more talls and strength expected in the line-up in '07, Grant can
hopefully contribute what he was hoping to do this season before the
plague of "talls" being injured rocked the club, that is, to play as a
full time forward, leaving the crunching work as a key defender to
younger bodies.
Great to see a legend kick on. Go Chris!!
hooroo....

LOL...thats what I thought. Mind you, just as the attacking side of
our paddock is looking promising, our midfield proven, the back half
can look forward to a fit Tom Williams, further improvement in Cam
Wight, (who finished off the season very well), Hargrave (who can
become the 3rd tall defender and not play out of his weight division
every week), and Harris of course. So I am not convinced our defence
is that diabolical, and we also have a sleeper in a young pup called
Steve Tiller. But if Thornton for Faulkner satisfies u...bring it

The back half is a bit dodgy Swoops no matter how you
look at it.
Thornton would slot in nicely.

talent.

Yes I do Swoops.
Not the most consistent player, and probably not in
your best six or eight, but I like his style and I'd
love to see him in a Carlton jumper.
If you can't get Thornton would you take Waite for
him?

Now u know I am a fan of Waite, (as a DEFENDER...:>))...but again...
we got what we wanted... a star (akker) and a big bodied forward
(makker)... so i think we will sit on our hands now until the National
Draft.
Hahn IS an impressive unit. They speak of him as a "big"
forward...the guy is a short arse, (but built like a Sherman Tank with
the aggro to go with it!!). Eade seems to be controlling the shots
here, (with admirable advice from Guru Clayton) and I think the folks
at the kennel, are as happy as pigs in shit!!
BTW, I think Mitchy boy will be a 200 game 1 club player... so off to
another club to rape and pillage my friend...:>)

....And so they should be...in a fairly quiet trade week, the Bulldogs
probably did the best. They improved their list, got a key forward and a
genuine star of the game, and gave up bugger all...

Agreed, as a CG fan it is good news.
Hopefully we manage to keep some other height on the ground to help him out
and allow him to get 'easier' job up forward instead of trying to hold the
defence together every other week!
