Omni HDV1000

I just bought one of these yesterday and so far, its good. The only gripes I have about it are...

1. the buttons on the remote are all the same size and shape.
2. slow to load

It says on the box that it is "Region Free Design". However the website has a region free patch for it, <http://www.buyomni.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=122>.

I dont have any non region-4 discs so can someone please explain?

An oversight, they were meant to be delivered region free but were shipped region 4, the firmware update will reset them to region free as advertised.

Nothing, just the region free setting

Does anyone use their HDV1000 with HDMI output? I get a great picture on my Panasonic TH-42PV500A plasma when connecting via component but via HDMI the sound is very jerky and the picture not as good with occasional flickering. Any suggestions?

HDMI playback on my Panasonic 42PV500A is poor on all disk types even commercial DVD's - is this sufficient cause for a warranty claim? Component playback is fine but I originally bought the player for its HDMI output.

Most likely just not compatible, HDMI is a connection standard but is not a standard protocol unfortunately, result scan vary quite a bit between brands and models.
