Yes, cocaine's a hell of a drug. I wish I could afford it :)

- Thank Australia Post for their shitty handling of standard mail items
for me to resort to "Express Post only" option. Lost or damaged items
has only happened to me 2 or 3 times (out of 150+ transactions), but
that's 2 or 3 times too many. If a mail item has a tracking number on
it, they seem to treat it with a bit more respect, and my winning
bidders stay happy.

- 'No combined postage' is explained in the T&C in the item description.

Another option would be to set a low price postage option (I charge $4,
which is the real cost given that I only ship in thick padded
envelopes) with the option of express post if people want to pay for
that premium service.
I've sent out about 80 DVDs all over the world using standard post and
not had one loss. I guess if you make clear that the express post
option is for extra safety, there'll be some users. But the cheap
option is a good one to offer as well, with no refund for non-delivery.

Yep. Sure, its annoying when something goes missing, but some people want
the cheapest option possible.

I have sold a few in the last few days where I haven't specified postage
costs and people are demanding I send them in the $1.20 prepaid envelope -
no protection for the DVD at all. I comply, but make them fully aware of
the consequences.

I can understand the OPs position though - he doesn't want to through the
hassle of whinging buyers.

But I know for one I won't bid on such an auction which demands express post
and doesn't allow combined shipping. Unless they are the only one on the
planet selling that DVD then I will look elsewhere.

Fair points from the previous 2 posters - for anyone wishing to bid on
these DVD's I will give the option of standard postage on the strict
proviso that no responsibility will be accepted for lost items, and to
chase any issues up with Australia Post. Standard postage cost will be
$4 (sent in padded post pak bag).
